Allan McCollum. Over Ten Thousand Individual Works, 1987/88. A combinitory system is devised and recorded in workbooks. Each of the books' pages represents a different way of combining one tray of "halves," which are cast in Hydrocal and put together by studio assistants. The system is used during the production process to insure that no two finished Individual Works will ever be alike. |
