Robber’s Cache

Along the Southern border lies Signal Mountain, roads are very seldom passable. It has been termed the impossible mountain, Jutting out of flatland into the sky, it seems oddly out of place, looking like it doesn’t belong there. Old mines are all over the mountain. Treasurer seekers looking to find Indian gold. Have covered its giant footprint for decades. Cocopah and Yuman Indians battled bravely at its base. Stories of Indian wealth being secreted in the mountain are widely told. Another legend details a cave filled with stolen treasure. Joe Long, a farmer was a member of a band of thieves. After a wild stealing spree that gang was caught by a posse. But they managed to escape, and bury their loot in a cave in Signal Mountain. The cave was sealed with dynamite. Eventually all the robbers were either killed or arrested. But the legend says they never were able to recover their buried loot. Many individuals have searched for the lost treasure. Wagon wheels, bones, and other artifacts have been found. But the treasure is still hidden in Signal Mountain.
