DON'T MESS WITH OCOTILLO

"Don't mess with Ocotillo"
They'll pack you out of town.
A solid group of citizens
Can turn the world around.

Not a drop of water taken by
McDougle from this town.
The people rose and took up arms
And shut his water down.

An ugly tower on the hill
Just above our town?
Might make us mean and cranky
Enough to rip the sucker down!

Sunset Butte dug a well
To pipe water across the road
Ocotillo said, "No, you don't."
And stopped their plans dead cold.

Paul thought a line of palms on Main
Would pretty up the town.
The council was against it
And voted Paul's palms down.

Granite battled for a pit
Off Highway 98.
But Granite can just go eat dirt!
While 'We The People' litigate.

"You won't do nothin' much 'round here"
Without a darn good fight.
This County's stepchild'll rise in force
And put the wrong to right.

"Don't mess" with Ocotillo
Those folks don't fool around!
